Established in 2002, M-y Books is an independent publisher that offers a high quality ‘boutique’ approach to self-publishing. Recognising that in the modern publishing world many authors must take the self-publishing route (at least initially before finding their market and possibly later switching to a major), we offer a unique service covering all aspects of successful publishing - including marketing, distribution and sales of each title we produce in electronic and audio book formats as well as printed hardback/paperback books.

Positioning ourselves at the cutting edge of the industry, we embrace every means of communication new and old to provide our authors with the widest possible range of ways in which people can discover their work. In addition to our ceaseless rolling programme dedicated to acquiring new outlets for our authors, M-y Books have supplier contracts with all the main printed book, audio book and e-book retailers (covering web-based retail, terminals in shops, mobile phone downloads and more conventional high street locations) as well as the burgeoning e-library channels worldwide.

Kev Saunders

Music man has a way with words

13 December 2007

MUSIC man Kev Saunders, the music director at Hertford Marquee, also has a talent for words.

Local Hertford haunts The Salisbury Arms and Baroosh were the two main locations where Kev set about writing his debut novel.

Entitled Wotcha!, the book was launched with a party on Saturday, December 15, at the Hertford Marquee.

The celebrations continued at No. 11, Old Cross in Hertford, where DJ Kev Saunders himself was joined by DJ Charly Rogers to play 70s, 80s and 90s pop, dance and rock anthems.

Wotcha! is Kev's first published novel but the Hertford DJ has already seen several articles in print. He also wrote a short film comedy titled BUST which was featured on Stephen Fry's Shorts series.

A busy man, Kev also manages to be music director of Hertford Music Festival, Rock at the Castle and Strum City, as well as the Marquee.

Wotcha! is pulls no punches with explicit language. The book explores voyeurism, rock star lifestyles and a global surveillance network called the Daisy Chain.

Wotcha! by Kev Saunders

The book is described as "a comic spit in the eye of born again zealots with a wink and a twinkle to the rest of us - but it's also deadly serious."

The back of the book reads: "Mining a rich seam of coal-black humour and sex, drugs and rock and roll, it starts on a bitter-sweet nostalgia trip and builds up to the pace of a thriller."

Published by M-Y Books, Wotcha! costs £9.99, from the Hertford Marquee, Books @ Hertford, Books @ Hoddesdon and online from Amazon.
